About us

Our Story....

OUR MISSION

While our goal is to raise and improve the quality of the Holland Lop and Poish breed we also feel that our country is loosing our Agricultural industry. We also feel that if we do not pass along our knowledge to our youth, we will continue to see our Agricultural industry decline. Our goal is to mentor youth, or new adult breeders, pass along what we have learned, over the years, to get others started; in hopes of reducing the decline of this very special, educational industry. We also teach the kids and other new breeders to do the same.

We got our start from a cousin that gave Justin a couple of big rabbits that he no longer wanted. We did not even know what breed they were until we got to his first show! At that show he did very well. Later we were at Trades Day and we met a guy from Oklahoma selling these really cute little bunnies. They were Polish and he said they would stay small, so we got one, (which we really try to discourage people from doing now because you never know what your going to get at a Trades Day) We still have that first little Polish doe, and she was his first big win at a major show, she won Best Opposite Sex at Ft Worth her first year! At that time we did not even know what a "Leg" was! Well we've added on to our Polish shock mainly consisting of bloodlines from Carroll, Weaver, Antwine just to name a few. The following year at another show Justin discovered the Netherland Dwarfs; and we had bloodlines from Echave, Caldwell, Powers, Thompson, Hill and that's just a few of those. We raised Netherlands for a few years then decided that our Polish were better so we sold out of the Netherlands. in 2008 we discovered the Holland Lops. We are now working on raising and improving our Hollands and getting better every breeding.

Our Sheep

We sold out of our sheep a couple of years ago but our story is still great We began our journey into the sheep world around 1994. Justin, our son, was 3 years old when he developed a love for sheep. We attended a local rodeo and Justin was fascinated with "mutton bustin". He spent that summer, fall and winter talking about sheep! When Christmas rolled around.....guess what Justin wanted Santa to bring? Yep, sheep! Well Santa brought him two aged ewes PREGNANT! and the rest is history. By the time we were done we managed a flock of 30 to 40 ewes. We worked together to feed and manage the flock but for the most part they belonged to Justin - we came a long way from those first two ewes. The bloodlines in the flock consisted mainly of Hill Country, Massey, Hancock and Cabiness. Our flock was always a work progress but we were pleased with the accomplishments and the winners we produced. Though the sheep are gone we still have all of our wonderful friends and contacts to help other kids find their show lambs.
